Ludovic Moncheur

Ludovic Alfred Joseph Ghislain Moncheur (born May 12, 1857 in Brussels ; † June 25, 1940 there ) was a Belgian diplomat .

Life

His father, François Moncheur, was Minister for Public Works in the Malou I cabinet from 1871 to 1873 and received a hereditary title of nobility. Baron Ludovic Moncheur received his doctorate in law from the Catholic University of Leuven and entered the foreign service on December 1, 1882. He was accredited on May 29, 1883 in The Hague , January 27, 1885 in Madrid, June 30, 1886 in Vienna, January 23, 1887 in Berlin, February 12, 1888 in Lisbon and February 10, 1890 in Rome .

When the Ottoman Empire entered the First World War, the United States of America became a protective power for Belgian citizens in the Ottoman Empire.
