Ludwig Blomeyer

Ludwig Blomeyer (born December 13, 1805 in Trendelburg ; † March 1, 1865 in Meiningen ) was a German lawyer, bank director, politician and Minister of State of the Duchy of Saxony-Meiningen .

Life

After studying law, Ludwig Blomeyer joined the judicial service of the Duchy of Saxony-Meiningen in 1833. In 1838 he was appointed director of the finance department of the state government. Dismissed as a director in 1849, he was then active on the board of the Meiningen state credit institution until 1861 . He was also chairman of the board of directors of Mitteldeutsche Kreditbank . In 1858 he became State Councilor and in 1864 Minister of State of the Duchy. In this position he was, among other things, the authorized representative of the South German Mint Association for the Duchy of Saxony-Meiningen . His twin brother Johann Friedrich Heinrich Blomeyer had a stately town villa built for the family at Meininger Bernhardstraße 14 opposite the Meininger Hoftheater in the style of historicism, which was torn down in the 2000s.

The lawyer Carl Blomeyer (1844-1910) was his son.
