Lorenzo Musetti (born March 3, 2002 in Carrara ) is an Italian tennis player . In 2018, at the age of 16, he was the youngest Italian ever to reach a Junior Grand Slam final at the US Open .

Career

Lorenzo Musetti started playing tennis when he was 4 years old. He won his first ITF junior tournament on September 24, 2016 in Tirana at the National Sport Park Open U18 . In 2018 he reached his first Junior Grand Slam final at the US Open, which he lost to Thiago Seyboth Wild . He had also reached the semi-finals in doubles . At the season finale, the ITF Junior Masters in Chengdu 2018, he reached 5th place; In the junior world rankings, he finished the year on rank 4. At the first Grand Slam tournament of the year in January 2019, he was able to celebrate his first title against Emilio Nava , which made him second in the rankings on January 28th.

He's also had his first successes with the professionals.
