Ludwig Borger

Ludwig Borger (born September 13, 1831 in Naila ; † October 18, 1877 there ) was a German entrepreneur and politician.

Life

Borger was a son of Andreas Borger, factory owner and landowner in Schottenhammer, and his wife Eva, nee. Basold, from Hirschberg on the Saale. He attended the humanistic grammar school in Hof until August 1852 and first studied medicine, then economics and mountain science in Munich and Jena . In Munich he became a member of the Corps Franconia . Without a degree, he returned to his home country at the request of the father to take over the management of the family business. In 1869 he left the business, a weaving mill, to his younger brother and devoted himself to politics. From 1868 to 1875 he was mayor of Naila. He is also a member of the Bavarian Chamber of Deputies for the national liberal party . Later he leased the royal bath in Steben. As a member of the state parliament he campaigned, among other things, for the construction of the Hof – Bad Steben railway line . Borger succumbed to typhoid fever at the age of 46 . He found his final resting place in Naila.
