Ludwig Christoph Ernst Karl Baldenius (born January 28, 1799 in Hainholz , † May 25, 1882 in Hanover ) was a German Protestant pastor and theologian .

Life

Born in 1799 during the Electorate of Hanover , Ludwig Christoph Ernst Karl Baldenius took over the position of pastor in Adensen in 1825 during the reign of the Kingdom of Hanover and then in Marienwerder from 1833 . In the interest of the further development of the village at that time, the clergyman campaigned for land belonging to the Marienwerder monastery to be released for settlement .

Baldenius was a member of the preachers' association in the Hanover area , which was also connected to a reading society . As a member of this association, he was in direct contact with the church politician and theologian Ludwig Adolf Petri . As a moderate theologian of the Late Enlightenment , Baldenius was opposed to the doctrine of " original sin " actively represented by Petri .

Only after almost half a century in Kwidzyn and in the age of more than 80 years occurred in 1880 Baldenius in retirement .

Baldeniusstrasse

Baldeniusstraße , which was laid out in the Hanoverian district of Ledeburg in 1924, has since honored the pastor with its name.
