Ludwig Delp

Ludwig Delp (born November 25, 1921 in Darmstadt ; † February 2, 2010 ) was a German lawyer .

Career

After graduating from the König-Albert-Gymnasium in Leipzig, Delp was drafted into military service in 1940 and seriously wounded in 1945. In 1946 he attended the University of Munich to study law and received his doctorate in 1951 with magna cum laude for Dr. jur .

In the following decades he worked as a lawyer in the field of media and publishing law. He also appeared as a court expert and author of specialist books. For many years from 1953 he was the editor of the loose-leaf collection published by Luchterhand-Verlag , The entire law of the press, book trade, radio and television . In 1993 the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg appointed him honorary professor at the chair for book studies .

Beyond his professional sphere of activity, Delp was closely connected to the German book industry. He is the founder of the German Book Archive Foundation in Munich and the Ludwig Delp Foundation. As the initiator of the International Society for Book Studies, he supported the networking of scholars.

He was buried in the forest cemetery in Grünwald .
