Ludwig Ehrler
Ludwig Ehrler (born August 20, 1939 in Leipzig ; † October 26, 2014 there ) was a German painter and university lecturer .
Life
Ludwig Ehrler studied at the Burg Giebichenstein Art College in Halle until 1965 .
In 1994 he returned to the university and until his retirement in 2004 he was professor for the basics of art: color, light, space. In the years 1998 to 2002 (according to other information until 2003) he was the rector of the university “in a difficult phase of upheaval”.
In addition to painting, he devoted himself to commercial graphics , especially poster design , as well as interior design .
From 2004 to 2013 he was a member of the MitBÜRGER für Halle - NEUES FORUM parliamentary group on the city council in Halle.
In 2017 the Kunstverein Halle remembered him with an exhibition. In 1997 the Halle Art Association “Talstrasse” showed his works.

- 1983: Architecture Prize of the Halle District Council for the design of the Prisma cinema in Halle-Neustadt (demolished in 1999)
- 1992: Art Prize of the State of Saxony-Anhalt
- 2005: Federal Cross of Merit
