Ludwig Hasenzahl

Ludwig Hasenzahl (born June 13, 1876 in Erbach (Odenwald) , † April 1, 1950 in Bad König ) was a German politician ( SPD) .

Live and act

After attending primary school, Hasenzahl learned the craft of ivory carving from 1890 to 1893 . He attended the technical school in Erbach for four semesters. Afterwards he traveled "abroad" for a few years for further training. Hasenzahl then returned to his homeland, where he settled down as a craftsman. In 1908 Hasenzahl, who had been a member of the SPD since the 1890s, became a member of the Erbach city council. From 1912 to 1918 he was a member of the constituency of the Grand Duchy of Hesse 6 (Bensheim - Erbach) in the German Reichstag .

After Hasenzahl had belonged to the 116 Kaiser Wilhelm Regiment in Gießen from 1897 to 1899 , he took part in the First World War with various Landsturm battalions from January 1915 to February 1916 .

After the November Revolution of 1918 Hasenzahl became chairman of the workers 'and soldiers' council in Erbach. From January 1919 to June 1920 he was a member of the Weimar National Assembly . After internal disputes within the party, Hasenzahl was expelled from the SPD in 1922 . After that, he no longer appeared in public.
