Ludwig Hempel

Ludwig Hempel (born June 21, 1922 in Hamburg , † July 22, 2011 in Münster ) was a German geographer .

Life

Hempel studied geography at the Georg-August University in Göttingen . In 1951, he was with a thesis on the structural and sculptural forms in the space between line and resin at Goettingen University doctorate . In 1955 he completed his habilitation in Göttingen with the text Studies on Weathering and Formation in Muschelkalke: a contribution to climatic morphology .

He was a professor of geography at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster .

Since 1981 he has been an honorary member of the Catholic student union AV Cheruscia zu Münster in the CV .
