Ludwig Hering (* 1589 ; † 1628 in Tübingen ) was a Württemberg painter in Tübingen. He was the father of the painters Ludwig (II.) And Friedrich Hering.

Life

Ludwig Hering worked in Tübingen without having academic citizenship. After the funeral sermon that has been handed down , he even made portraits. He was apparently married twice. With his first wife he had two sons who later also became painters in Tübingen: Ludwig (II., * 1610) and Friedrich (* 1615). He also taught her. He married his second wife in 1620. In addition to the better-known painters such as Conrad Melperger , Jacob Ramsler , Johann Christoph Neyffer as well as Jacob Kleinheinz and Thomas Vogel, Hering was the only painter at the beginning of the 17th century whose presence in Tübingen can be proven over a longer period of time . But there is no tangible information about his work.
