Ludwig Hermann Hoffmann

Ludwig Hermann Carl Christian Hoffmann (born June 19, 1819 in Parchim ; † October 16, 1898 in Hamburg ) was a Hamburg merchant and member of parliament.

Life

Ludwig Hermann Hoffmann was born as the younger son and perhaps the third child of the Parchim merchant and (later) factory owner Johann Christian Hoffmann (* 1783) and his wife Anna Dorothea, née. Karnatz (* 1793).

Like his father, he became a businessman, but in Hamburg for the L. Hoffmann company . He worked from 1853 to 1855 as an adjunct of the St. Jacobi Church , then from 1856 to 1870 as a hundred and eighty , while he worked in 1868 and 1869 as a Jurat . From 1870 until his death he was head of St. Jacobi. In addition, from 1877 to 1882, head of the St. Gertrauden Chapel, which as a building did not exist at that time. From 1883 to 1897 Hoffmann was head of the St. Gertrudstift and from 1880 to 1896 head of the St. Gertrud Church , from 1892 to 1896 he was the representative of the parish of St. Gertrud in the church synod.

From 1856 to 1858, Hoffmann was second and first major in the 1st battalion of the civilian military in 1859 . He was from 1860 to 1865 civil military commissioner.

From 1858 to 1860 Hoffmann was a member of the customs and excise deputation, from 1858 to 1866 of the fire department deputation, and was sent by the latter to the city water deputation in 1862 and to the building deputation in 1865 and 1866. From 1877 to 1879 Hoffmann worked as a judge at the higher court.

He was a member of the Hamburg parliament from 1859 to 1865. In 1859 and 1860 he was posted by the Customs and Accession Deputation, and from 1861 to 1865 by the Fire Fund Deputation.
