Ludwig Hiermann

Ludwig Hiermann (born June 20, 1897 in Linz , Upper Austria ; † October 9, 1962 there ) was a lawyer, chamber secretary and politician .

Life

After attending grammar school, Hiermann took part in World War I and received several awards. After the war he studied law in Innsbruck , also at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna. He then worked briefly at the Vienna Agricultural and Forestry Operating Company and did a year of legal practice. In 1923 Dr. Hiermann head of the social insurance and labor law department at the Linz Chamber of Labor . From 1932 to 1934 he was a member of the Linz municipal council for the Social Democratic Party , and between 1934 and 1938 he was the only former socialist member of the state parliament .

In 1938 Hiermann was briefly arrested, in 1939 he was appointed managing director of a district office of the guild association of the carpentry trade and in 1941 as a social officer at Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG in Steyr. In 1945, during a difficult time, he took over the economic department of the civil administration in Mühlviertel and in 1946 the department for social and transport policy in the Upper Austria Chamber of Commerce . In the period from 1948 to 1949 Hiermann was a member of the Federal Council for the SPÖ. He was an experienced lawyer, especially on labor law issues.
