Ludwig Schneller (politician)

Ludwig Schneller , born as Max Ludwig Schneller , (born February 17, 1879 in Zurich ; † October 15, 1936 there ) was a Swiss politician ( CVP ).

biography

Faster attended primary school in Zurich and then the Jesuit high school in Feldkirch . He studied law at the Universities of Zurich , Lausanne , Berlin and Paris , received his doctorate Dr. iur. and was admitted to the bar . From 1905 he ran his own law firm in Zurich.

In 1904, Schneller co-founded the Christian Social Party of the Canton of Zurich and was Vice President of the Cantonal and City Parties for many years. From 1913 to 1917 he was a member of the Grand City Council of Zurich and then until 1931 a member of the Zurich Cantonal Council . In 1931 Schneller was elected to the National Council, in which he sat until 1936.

The Academic Society Renaissance was founded in 1904 by Schneller, in 1919 he founded the Club Felix and was the publisher , editor and sponsor of the Schweizer Rundschau . He was also one of the initiators of the Catholic Academic House in Zurich and from 1918 to 1923 was President of the Commission for the Study of Better Financing of the Zurich Diaspora Parishes.
