Ludwig Thoma (Senator)

Ludwig Thoma (born December 4, 1890 in Günzburg , † October 20, 1972 in Dießen am Ammersee ) was a German administrative officer and Bavarian senator.

Life

Thoma attended elementary school and the humanistic grammar school in Günzburg and graduated from high school in 1910. He then studied political science at the University of Munich and, after passing his examination, worked for the senior administrative service at the Munich City Council and the Penzberg community. From 1918 until his dismissal in 1933, he was the managing director of the Association of Rural Communities in Bavaria. In 1936 he entered the insurance industry, where he worked for nine years, after which he was district director of the BBV in the Niederbayern district from 1946 to 1948 and a managing member of the board of directors of the Bavarian Municipal Assembly from 1948 to 1958 . In 1947 he temporarily took over the post of first chairman, to which he was elected in 1950 until he gave it up in 1966. He was then elected honorary chairman and vice-president of the German Municipal Assembly, and in 1968 he also became an honorary member of the Presidium. From December 4, 1947 to December 31, 1971 he was a member of the Bavarian Senate and from 1970 its age-president.
