Gottlob Carl Ludwig Christian Ernst Graf von Schönburg (born August 27, 1762 in Glauchau ; † May 1, 1842 ibid ) was a Bavarian major general and owner of the Hinterglauchau rule in the Kingdom of Saxony .

biography

The son of Count Albert Christian Ernst von Schönburg (1720–1799) and Magdalena Franziska Elisabeth von Schönburg-Wechselburg (1727–1772) initially served in the Electoral Saxon army from 1780 before he switched to the Bavarian Army, where he achieved the rank of major general . In 1797 Ludwig acquired the indebted rule Hinterglauchau from his brother Franz Gottlob Albert von Schönburg (1761–1841). With the dowry of his wife Ferdinande Henriette (née Countess zu Hochberg-Rohnstock) (1767-1836) he was able to pay off the debts and end the administration of the rule. With the extinction of the Schönburg-Rochsburg line in 1825, Count Ludwig von Schönburg also inherited the Rochsburg rule . On October 9, 1835, the deeply religious Ludwig had to cede numerous rights of the House of Schönburg to the Kingdom of Saxony with the explanatory recess. At the age of 75, Ludwig sold some of his property to his son Heinrich Gottlob Otto Ernst von Schönburg (1794–1881).
