The Ludwigsbahnhof was the station of the Hessische Ludwigsbahn (HLB) in Wiesbaden . The terminus was the departure station of today's Ländchesbahn to Niedernhausen , where there was a connection to the Main-Lahn-Bahn , also operated by the HLB .

history

The station was opened on July 1, 1879 and was located east of the Rheinbahnhof and Taunusbahnhof on Rheinstrasse . The Mons banker's villa was converted into a reception building.

In 1906 the three adjacent train stations were replaced by the new Wiesbaden main train station, and the Ludwig train station was also closed. The tracks that were no longer needed were removed and the reception building demolished.

Today's State Museum has stood on the grounds of the Ludwigsbahnhof since 1915 .
