history

Historical namesake

The historical namesake for the place was Ludwigseck Castle with the associated court "in der Rohrbach " (later Ludwigseck court ). In 1538 it consisted of the villages of Beenhausen, Gerterode, Heierode, Rohrbach, Ober- and Niederthalhausen and Tann. In some cases, Ersrode, Trunsbach and the Schöpbach desert are also included. The court was located in the village of Tann. From 1579 the court belonged to the Rotenburg office , which was part of the Rotenburger Quart from 1627 to 1835 .

The Ludwigseck community

As part of the regional reform in Hesse , the previously independent municipalities of Beenhausen , Ersrode , Hainrode and Oberthalhausen were dissolved on December 31, 1971 and incorporated into the new municipality of Ludwigseck. Niederthalhausen opposed this voluntary association.

As early as August 1, 1972, the municipality of Ludwigseck was incorporated into the municipality of Ludwigsau by virtue of state law as part of the municipal reorganization.
