Specialist group (water rescue)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The specialist groups of the German Life Rescue Society (DLRG) and the water rescue service support the water rescue groups or expand their possibilities. They are part of the water rescue train , which, in addition to the specialist groups, consists of two SEG-WR as a disaster control unit or two water rescue groups (WRGs).

The following specialist groups exist:

Technology / logistics

As a sub-unit of the water rescue train, the technical / logistics specialist group supports the water rescue groups deployed in their tasks and ensures that the units deployed are supplied with consumables (e.g. operating materials). In addition, it has the task of illuminating the scene of action if necessary and ensuring the power supply.

Air rescue group

The air rescue group supports the other specialist groups from the air and evacuates people trapped in the flood area. It consists of a group leader and four air rescuers from DLRG or water rescue service . The air rescuers of the DLRG and the water rescue service represent a new kind of cross-organizational deployment concept. This was developed on the basis of experience with floods in recent years by the Bavarian State Association of the Water Rescue Service in cooperation with the Bundeswehr . In the event of a flood, the specially trained DLRG and water rescue forces manned helicopters from the German Armed Forces , the police , the federal police or other operators and can rescue people threatened by the water with the help of a winch.

At the same time, they support the assistants deployed in their work.
