Luigi Aldrovandi Marescotti
Luigi Aldrovandi Marescotti, Count of Viano (born October 5, 1876 in Bologna , † July 9, 1945 in Rome ) was an Italian diplomat .
From 1914 to 1918 he was head of cabinet in the Italian Foreign Ministry. Aldrovandi Marescotti served as Italian ambassador to the German Empire from 1926 to 1929 . Then he switched again to the Italian Foreign Ministry . In 1937 he took part as an Italian delegate at the Brussels Conference on the Sino-Japanese War. From 1938 he was an Italian delegate to the League of Nations .
In 1939 Aldrovandi Marescotti was appointed senator for life to fascist Italy . He belonged to various commissions and was chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs 1940/1941. After the defeat of fascism, he was expelled from the Senate in October 1944.
