Luis Medina (athlete)
Luis Medina ( Luis Medina Montoya; born June 21, 1952 in Guantánamo ) is a former Cuban medium and long-distance runner .
In 1973 he won silver over 800 m at the Central American and Caribbean Athletics Championships and in 1974 gold over 1500 m and silver over 800 m at the Central America and Caribbean Games . In 1975 he won the Pan American Games in Mexico City over 800 m and took bronze over 1500 m.
At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, he was eliminated from the 800 m and 1500 m in the run.
He won over 1500 m each at the Central American and Caribbean Championships in 1977 and defended his title at the Central American and Caribbean Games in 1978.
In 1981 he won bronze over 1500 m at the Central American and Caribbean Championships, in 1982 silver over 1500 m and 5000 m at the Central American and Caribbean Games.
