final
August 29, 2015, 6:30 p.m. local time (12:30 p.m. CEST )
A strong field of high jumpers competed in this competition. Among the favorites, the Spanish double European champion belonged from 2012 / 2014 and WM -Third of 2013 Ruth Beitia, the Croatian double world champion of 2007 / 2009 and Olympic silver medalist from 2008 Blanka Vlasic, the Russian world champion in 2011 and Olympic champion in 2012 Anna Tschitscherowa, the Russian vice European Champion 2014 Marija Kutschina and the Croatian European Championship third from 2014 Ana Šimić.
At the jump height of 1.97 m, there were six athletes in the competition: Tschitscherowa, Kutschina, Tschitscherowa, the Polish Kamila Lićwinko, the German Marie-Laurence Jungfleisch, Vlašić and Beitia. The two Russians, the Polish and the German had not missed any misses, Beitia and Vlašić each one. Only Tschitscherowa and Jungfleisch tore the new height with their first attempt, the other four took 1.97 m the first time. Tschitscherowa was then successful with her second jump, while Jungfleisch played poker and saved her two remaining attempts for the next height. At 1.99 m there were still six jumpers. Except for young meat, everyone mastered this height with just one jump each. But Jungfleisch was also successful with the last attempt she had left.
The next step was 2.01 m. Kutschina kept her clean slate here too, except that Vlašić jumped 2.01 m the first time. For the Russian, this meant a new personal best. Chicherova was then successful with her second jump, while 2.01 m was too high for the three other athletes here in Beijing . They had 1.99 m and due to the rule of failure, Kamila Lićwinko came in fourth, Ruth Beitia was fifth and Marie-Laurence Jungfleisch sixth.
The competition was decided at the next height. All three remaining jumpers tried in vain on the now 2.03 m. Marija Kutschina was world champion ahead of Blanka Vlašić. Anna Tschitscherowa took third place.
