The women's high jump at the 1999 World Athletics Championships was held on August 27 and 29, 1999 in the Olympic Stadium in the Spanish city ​​of Seville .

In this competition, Russian high jumpers won two medals, silver and bronze. It won the vice world champion of 1997 , two-time World Cup -Third ( 1991 / 1995 ) and Olympic bronze medalist from 1996 Inha Babakova from the Ukraine . 33 participants competed in two groups for the qualification round. The qualification height for the direct entry into the final was 1.94 m. After seven athletes had already made one or two unsuccessful attempts over 1.94 m, it became clear that exactly thirteen high jumpers had mastered 1.92 m (highlighted in light green). The jury decided that the qualification could be canceled at this point and that all thirteen athletes were qualified for the final with a skipped 1.92 m.
