The men's 100-meter run at the 1999 World Athletics Championships was held on August 21 and 22, 1999 in the Olympic Stadium in the Spanish city ​​of Seville .

The US defending champion Maurice Greene won his first of three titles at these world championships . He won ahead of the Canadian World Cup -second of 1995 Bruny Surin , who with his sprint relays have two golds (1995/ 1997 ) and one bronze ( 1993 won) at world championships.
