The men's 100-meter run at the 1995 World Athletics Championships was held on August 5 and 6, 1995 in Gothenburg's Ullevi Stadium .

The Canadian sprinters celebrated a double victory in this competition. Donovan Bailey became world champion . He won ahead of Bruny Surin . The two Canadians won another gold medal on the final day as members of their 4 x 100 meter relay . Bronze went to Ato Boldon from Trinidad and Tobago .

The existing World Cup record was not set and not improved.

The wind conditions were not favorable in numerous races, and the sprinters often had to deal with headwinds. In the final, however, there was a tailwind support of 1.0 m / s. The Canadian world champion Donovan Bailey was the only runner to break the ten-second mark.
