Édson Ribeiro ( Édson Luciano Ribeiro ; born December 8, 1972 in Bandeirantes , Paraná ) is a former Brazilian sprinter whose special route was the 100-meter run .

His greatest achievement was winning two Olympic medals with the Brazilian 4 x 100 meter relay . He won 1996 in Atlanta together with Arnaldo da Silva , Robson da Silva and André da Silva in 38.41 s, the bronze medal behind the teams from Canada and the United States. 2000 in Sydney Ribeiro was used in the second position of the relay race and won the silver medal behind the Americans in 37.90 seconds with Vicente de Lima , André da Silva and Claudinei da Silva .

Ribeiro was also awarded relay medals at the World Athletics Championships in 1999 in Seville (bronze) and in 2003 in Paris / Saint-Denis (silver).

As a single starter, Ribeiro was in Bogotá in 1999 in the 200-meter run and in 2003 in the 100-meter South American champion, while in 1995 he was runner-up in the short sprint course.

Ribeiro is 1.90 m tall and weighs 95 kg.
