Alonso Edward (born December 8, 1989 in Panama City ) is a Panamanian sprinter .

In 2009 he first won the titles in the 100- and 200-meter run at the South American Athletics Championships in Lima . Two months later he won the silver medal in the 200 m at the World Championships in Berlin . With his time of 19.81 s he set a new South American record. In the public perception, however, Edward's performance largely went under because Usain Bolt set a new world record in the same race.

Alonso Edward is 1.80 m tall and has a competition weight of 75 kg. He trains at the University of Oklahoma under Matt Kane.
