Carlos Bianchi (athlete)

Carlos Bianchi ( Carlos Antonio Bianchi Lutti ; born December 19, 1910 in Córdoba , † 1935 ) was an Argentine sprinter .

Bianchi Lutti won his first international medal at the South American Championships in Lima in 1929 , when he finished second behind his compatriot Hérnan Spinassi in the 100-meter run . Two years later at the South American Championships in Buenos Aires in 1931 he was the most successful participant with three gold medals. With 10.9 s he won the 100 m, he won the 200 m in 21.9 s and as the final runner of the Argentine team in the 4 x 100 meter relay , he was also the first to cross the finish line.

At the 1932 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, he was eliminated over 100 m in the semifinals in 10.7 seconds after he had run in the quarterfinals 10.5 seconds. Over 200 m, he improved his personal record to 21.4 seconds in the quarter-finals. In the final, he finished fifth in 21.6 seconds behind three Americans and the German Arthur Jonath . In 1933 he improved over 100 m to 10.4 seconds, but did not take part in the South American Championship.

Carlos Bianchi was 1.83 m tall and weighed 78 kg.
