The women's discus throw at the 1995 World Athletics Championships was held on August 11th and 13th, 1995 in Gothenburg's Ullevi Stadium .

The world champion was the Belarusian vice European champion from 1994 Elina Swerava . Second place took the German Vice-World Champion in 1991 and two-time European champion ( 1990 /1994) ilke wyludda . Bronze went to the Russian defending champion and Vice European Champion from 1990 Olga Tschernjawskaja , who started under the name Olga Burowa until 1993.

qualification

33 participants competed in two groups for the qualification round. The qualification distance for the direct entry into the final was 62.00 m. Seven athletes exceeded this mark (highlighted in light blue). The final field was filled with the five next-placed athletes to twelve throwers (highlighted in light green). So finally 59.78 m had to be achieved for the final.
