The men's triple jump at the 1995 World Athletics Championships was held on August 5th and 7th, 1995 in Gothenburg's Ullevi Stadium .
The world champion was the British World Cup third in 1993, Jonathan Edwards , who celebrated his first victory in a major international championship here and developed into one of the most successful three jumpers in sporting history in the years to come. He improved his own world record twice in the finals and was the first athlete to exceed the 18-meter mark. Second place went to Brian Wellman from Bermuda . Bronze went to the Central America / Caribbean Champion of 1993 and winner of the Pan American Games in 1995 Jérôme Romain from Dominica .

Record improvement
The British World Champion Jonathan Edwards improved the existing World Championship record at these World Championships twice:
- 18.16 m - final on August 7th, 1st attempt
- 18.29 m - final on August 7, 2nd attempt
At the same time, Jonathan Edwards increased his own world record by 31 centimeters and was the first triple jumper to exceed the mark of eighteen meters.
Wind conditions
In the following summary of results, the wind conditions for the best jumps are named. The permitted limit is two meters per second. With stronger wind support, the distance will be counted for the competition, but will not be included in the lists of records and the best.
qualification
August 6, 1995, 5:35 p.m.
43 participants competed in two groups for the qualifying round. The qualification distance for the direct entry into the final was 17.10 m. Five athletes exceeded this mark (highlighted in light blue). The final field was filled with the next seven athletes to twelve jumpers (highlighted in light green). So finally 16.71 m had to be achieved to take part in the finals.
