The men's triple jump at the 1991 World Athletics Championships was held on August 25 and 26, 1991 in the Olympic Stadium in the Japanese capital, Tokyo .
With gold and bronze, the US triple jumpers won two medals in this competition. Kenny Harrison became world champion . He won before the reigning European champion Leonid Voloshin from the Soviet Union . Bronze went to the Olympic II of 1984 and Vice World Champion 1987 Mike Conley Sr. .

qualification

37 participants competed in two groups for the qualifying round. The qualification distance for direct entry into the final was 16.95 m. Eight athletes exceeded this mark (highlighted in light blue). The final field was filled with the four next placed athletes to twelve jumpers (highlighted in light green). So finally 16.88 m had to be achieved to take part in the finals.
