The women's 100-meter hurdles at the World Athletics Championships in 1991 was held on August 29 and 30, 1991 in the Olympic Stadium in the Japanese capital, Tokyo .

The hurdlers from the Soviet Union won two gold and bronze medals in this competition. World champion was Lyudmila Naroschilenko , who received Swedish citizenship in 1996 and from then on competed for Sweden under her new name Ludmila Engquist. The second place went to the American Gail Devers , who was victorious in the Pan American Games in 1987 over 100 meters and with the US 4 x 100 meter relay . Bronze went to Natalija Hryhorjewa .
