Anne Piquereau (born June 15, 1964 in Poitiers ) is a former French hurdler . Internationally, she was particularly successful in the 60-meter hurdles in the hall.

Athletic career

After numerous successes in the youth and junior sector, Piquereau made her international breakthrough in 1985 when she won the bronze medal in the 60-meter hurdles both at the World Indoor Athletics Games in Paris and at the European Indoor Championships in Piraeus. The following year she finished second at the European Indoor Championships in Madrid behind the East German Cornelia Oschkenat . In the open, however, she missed the finals in the 100-meter hurdles at the European Championships in Stuttgart .

In 1987, Piquereau was fourth over 60 meter hurdles at the European Indoor Championships in Liévin and fifth over 100 meter hurdles at the World Championships in Rome . The 1988 season was less successful. At the European Indoor Championships in Budapest she was eliminated in the preliminary stages, at the Olympic Games in Seoul she did not reach the goal in the quarter-finals.

Piquereau was fourth over 60 meter hurdles at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 1990 in Glasgow. At the European Championships in Split , she reached the semi-finals in the 100-meter run as well as the following year at the World Championships in Tokyo . At the Mediterranean Games in Athens in 1991 , she won over the same distance.

In her second Olympic participation in Barcelona in 1992 , Piqereau reached the semi-finals. In 1994 she won her last international medal when she was third in the 60-meter hurdles at the European Indoor Championships in Paris . At the European Championships in Helsinki , she finished eighth over 100 meter hurdles.

Piquereau was French champion seven times: three times in the 100-meter hurdles (1988, 1992 and 1994) and four times over 60-meter hurdles in the hall (1985-1987 and 1990).
