The women's 10 km walk at the 1991 World Athletics Championships was held on August 24, 1991 in the streets of the Japanese capital, Tokyo .

Alina Ivanova from the Soviet Union became world champion . She won ahead of the Swede Madelein Svensson . Bronze went to the narrowly defeated Finn Sari Essayah .
