The 10-km walk for women in the 1995 World Championships in Athletics was in the streets of 7 August 1995 the Swedish city of Gothenburg held.

In this competition, the Russian walkers won two medals, gold and bronze. Irina Stankina became world champion . She won ahead of the Italian Elisabetta Perrone . Bronze went to Jelena Nikolajewa, who finished second in 1992 and took third place in the European Championship in 1994 .

The gaps in this competition were very close. There were only three seconds between first and second place, the walkers in third and fourth place crossed the finish line at the same time, seven seconds behind the winner. Even behind that, the gaps were within narrow ranges.

The Russian world champion Irina Stankina improved the existing world championship record on August 7th by 44 seconds to 42:13 minutes.

The defending champion, third in the 1991 World Cup and reigning European champion Sari Essayah was seven seconds behind the winner and fourth at the same time as the bronze medalist
Beate Gummelt, formerly Beate Anders, came in tenth place
