The men's hammer throw at the 1995 World Athletics Championships was held on August 5 and 6, 1995 in Gothenburg's Ullevi Stadium .
World champion was the defending champion and Olympic champion from 1992 Andrei Abduwalijew from Tajikistan . He won in front of the Belarusian Olympic Second in 1992, two-time runner-up ( 1991 / 1993 ), European champions in 1990 and European Vice Champion of 1994 Ihar Astapkowitsch . Bronze went to the Hungarian World Cup third from 1993 and Vice European Champion from 1990 Tibor Gécsek . So there was an identical result to the last world championships in the medal ranks.

qualification
43 participants competed in two groups for the qualifying round. The qualification distance for the direct entry into the final was 76.50 m. Five athletes exceeded this mark (highlighted in light blue). The final field was filled with the seven next-placed athletes to twelve throwers (highlighted in light green). So finally 75.48 m had to be achieved to take part in the finals.
