The men's 3000 meter obstacle course at the 1995 World Athletics Championships was held from August 7th to 11th, 1995 in Gothenburg's Ullevi Stadium .

For the third time in a row, the runners from Kenya achieved a double victory in this competition. Also for the third time in a row, the world champion was named Moses Kiptanui , who also held the world record. Silver went to the African runner-up in 1993, Christopher Koskei . The 1993 Asian champion Saad Shaddad Al-Asmari from Saudi Arabia won the bronze medal.

Record improvement

World champion Moses Kiptanui from Kenya improved his own world championship record in the final on August 11th by 2.20 seconds to 8: 04.16 minutes.

In addition, third-placed Saad Shaddad Al-Asmari from Saudi Arabia set a new Asian record with 8: 12.95 minutes.

Preliminary round

The preliminary round was carried out in three runs. The first six athletes per run - highlighted in light blue - as well as the six fastest runners - highlighted in light green - qualified for the semi-finals.
