Brahim Boulami

Brahim Boulami ( Arabic براهيم بولامي; * April 20, 1972 in Safi ) is a Moroccan obstacle runner .

Career

Brahim Boulami was seventh in the 3000 meter obstacle course at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and the 2000 Sydney Games . He won the Goodwill Games in 2001 and the African Cup of Nations in 2002.

On August 24, 2001 he set a world record in the 3000 meter obstacle course at the Van Damme Memorial with a time of 7: 55.28 minutes . Another world record over this distance in 7: 53.17 min was not recognized by the World Athletics Federation (IAAF) after Boulami tested positive for erythropoietin (EPO). He was suspended for two years for doping in 2002 .

At the 2005 World Championships he came in fourth.

At a height of 1.80 m, his competition weight is 64 kg. He is the younger brother of long-distance runner Khalid Boulami .
