Eshetu Tura (born January 19, 1950 ) is a former Ethiopian long-distance runner who was particularly successful in the obstacle course .

He celebrated the greatest success of his career at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow . There he won the bronze medal behind Bronisław Malinowski and Filbert Bayi in the 3000 meter obstacle course with a personal best of 8: 13.57 minutes .

Tura won other medals at the African Athletics Championships. In 1979 in Dakar he finished second in the obstacle course, in 1982 in Cairo he won the obstacle course and finished second over 5000 m . He also took part in four world cross-country championships between 1981 and 1984 . He won the team championship every time with Ethiopia. His best individual placement was sixth in Rome in 1982 .

Eshetu Tura is 1.79 m tall and had a competition weight of 66 kg. After the end of his active career he worked as a coach, most recently at the Alfa Athletics Club in Ethiopia.
