Mark Croghan

Mark Croghan ( Mark Duane Croghan ; born January 8, 1968 in Akron , Ohio ) is a retired American obstacle runner .

At the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo in 1991 , he was eliminated in the preliminary stages, and at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona he reached the semifinals.

At the final of the 1993 World Championships in Stuttgart, he finished fifth in his personal best of 8: 09.76 minutes, although his shoe began to dissolve after the first jump into the moat. After a preliminary round at the 1995 World Cup in Gothenburg, he was fifth at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and sixth at the 1997 World Cup in Athens.

Overtraining , injuries and iron deficiency anemia stalled his career after 1998. Although he qualified for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, he was eliminated in advance.

He was five times American champion (1991, 1994-1997).

Mark Croghan is 1.75 m tall and weighed 60 kg during his playing days. The Ohio State University graduate was trained by Lee LaBadie. He has been married since 1997 and has two sons.
