Steffen Brand
Steffen Brand (born March 10, 1965 in Recklinghausen ) is a former German athlete and now sports medicine doctor (Dr. Steffen Brand).
Steffen Brand was overshadowed by Dieter Baumann , who was almost the same age, for a long time and was German champion over 5000 m in 1990 when Baumann was injured.
From 1992 to 1996 he was one of the world's best 3000 meter obstacle course skaters.
German champions
Steffen Brand was German champion over 3000 meters in 1992, 1993 and 1996.
International success
Steffen Brand only switched to the obstacle course in 1992 - at the age of 27 . His personal best over a 3000 meter obstacle is 8: 14.37 min (1995).
Steffen Brand finished fifth in the 1992 Olympics and sixth in 1996 .
At the World Championships he was sixth in 1993 and fourth in 1995 .
Steffen Brand was usually the best European at the season highlights alongside Alessandro Lambruschini . In the year of the European Championships in 1994, of all places, he was not in top form.
