Martin Strege

Martin Strege (born February 21, 1966 in Kassel ) is a former German obstacle and marathon runner .

Over 3000 meters obstacle he took 14th place at the World Athletics Championships in 1993 in Stuttgart. In 1994 he was sixth at the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki , in 1995 at the World Championships in Gothenburg eighth and in 1996 at the Olympic Games in Atlanta tenth.

In 1994 and 1995 he was German champion in the 3000 meter obstacle course .

On the 42.195-kilometer distance he came in 1993 at the Berlin Marathon in 15th place. He was tenth in the Berlin Marathon in 1998 and in the Hamburg Marathon in 1999, where he also came second in the German Marathon Championship .

He started as an active player for the LG Baunatal - Kassel, ESC Erfurt, Erfurter LAC and SV Creaton Großengottern.

Martin Strege works as a police chief inspector and trainer at the Wiesbaden University of Applied Sciences, Kassel department.
