Saad Shaddad Al-Asmari ( Arabic سعد شداد الأسمري, DMG Saʿd Šaddād al-Asmarī ; * September 24, 1968 ) is a former Saudi Arabian long-distance runner who specialized in the obstacle course .

His most significant achievement was winning the bronze medal in the obstacle course at the 1995 World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg . Behind the defending champion Moses Kiptanui and Christopher Koskei from Kenya, he reached the goal in an Asian record time of 8: 12.95 minutes. Al-Asmari was the first Saudi Arabian athlete to win a medal at world championships. At the World Athletics Championships in Athens in 1997 , he finished fourth.

In addition, Al-Asmari was three times Asian champion (1993, 1995, 1998) and Pan-Arabian champion (1993, 1997, 1999) in the obstacle course. He won the Asian Games in 1994 and the Pan-Arab Games in 1997. Apart from his specialty, he was Asian champion in the 5000-meter run in 1995 and in cross-country running in 1997 .

Saad Shaddad Al-Asmari is 1.85 m tall and had a competition weight of 72 kg.
