Hideki Kita

Hideki Kita ( Japanese 喜 多 秀 喜 , Kita Hideki ; born September 28, 1952 in Saga Prefecture ) is a former Japanese long-distance runner .

On the track he was the Japanese champion in both the 5000 and the 10,000 m in 1977 and 1978 . In 1979 he was Asian champion over 5000 m.

In 1978 he finished fifth in the Beppu and second in the Fukuoka Marathon . In 1979 he won the Beppu and 1981 Tokyo International Men's Marathon . In 1982 he finished second and in 1983 seventh in Fukuoka. At the marathon of the World Athletics Championships 1983 in Helsinki he came 42nd place. In 1984 he won the Beijing marathon and in 1987 the Ōme marathon over 30 km. His career came to an end with a fifth place in Beijing in 1987 and in Fukuoka in 1988.
