Encarna Granados
Encarna Granados (actually Encarnación Granados Aguilera ; born January 30, 1972 in Sarrià de Ter ) is a former Spanish walker .
At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, she finished fourteenth over 10 km. She celebrated the greatest success of her career a year later over the same distance at the World Athletics Championships in 1993 in Stuttgart. In a personal best of 43:21 min she won the bronze medal behind Sari Essayah (42:59 min) and Ileana Salvador (43:08 min).
At the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 1994 Granados was fifteenth, at the 1995 World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg sixteenth in the 10 km walk. In contrast, she did not reach the goal at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and the 1998 European Athletics Championships in Budapest. She finished 20th in the 20 km walk at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.
In addition, Encarna Granados was a total of eight times Spanish champion, four times in 20 km walking (1992, 1994, 1995, 1997) and in 10,000 m track walking (1993-1995, 2000). She is 1.68 m tall and had a competition weight of 50 kg.
