The men's triple jump at the 2001 World Athletics Championships was held on August 4 and 6, 2001 in the Commonwealth Stadium in the Canadian city ​​of Edmonton .

27 participants competed in two groups for the qualifying round. The qualification distance for the direct entry into the final was 17.10 m. Four athletes exceeded this mark (highlighted in light blue). The final field was filled with the eight athletes placed next to twelve jumpers (highlighted in light green). So finally 16.64 m had to be achieved to take part in the finals.
