Oleg Yevgenevich Sakirkin ( Russian Олег Евгеньевич Сакиркин , English transcription Oleg Yevgenyevich Sakirkin ; born January 23, 1966 in Shymkent ; † March 18, 2015 ibid) was a Soviet or Kazakh athlete who specialized in the triple jump .

Until 1992 Sakirkin represented the Soviet Union internationally . He celebrated his first major success at the 1987 World Championships in Athletics in Rome when he bronze medal behind the Bulgarians in the triple jump Christo Markov and American Mike Conley Sr. won. At the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Budapest in 1988 , he secured the title. In 1989 he took second place at the Universiade in Duisburg , as well as at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 1990 in Glasgow.

In 1993 Sakirkin, now starting for Kazakhstan, was second at the Universiade in Buffalo and at the Asian Athletics Championships in Manila . He was both victorious at the Asian Games in Hiroshima in 1994 and at the Central Asian Games in Tashkent in 1995 and in Bishkek in 1999. In contrast, he came at the 1999 World Athletics Championships in Seville and at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney not beyond the qualifying round.

Oleg Sakirkin was 1.82 m tall and had a competition weight of 72 kg. He achieved his personal best in 1989 with 17.58 m in a competition in Gorky.
