The women's pole vault at the 1999 World Athletics Championships was held on August 21, 1999 in the Olympic Stadium in the Spanish city of Seville .
This competition was on the program for women for the first time at a world championship.
World champion was the American Stacy Dragila , who equaled the existing world record with her victory jump. She won ahead of the Ukrainian Anshela Balachonowa , who set the existing European record. Bronze went to the Australian Tatiana Grigorieva .

The US world champion Stacy Dragila set the first world championship record in the competition on August 21 with a height of 4.60 m . In doing so, it also equalized the existing world record.
In addition, there was an equalized continental record and a national record.
