The men's 800-meter race at the 1999 World Athletics Championships was held from August 26th to 29th, 1999 in the Olympic Stadium in the Spanish city ​​of Seville .

Wilson Kipketer , who started for Denmark and also held the world record, won his third World Cup title in a row . He won Hezekiél Sepeng before the South African 1996 Olympic runner-up . Bronze went to the Algerian Djabir Saïd-Guerni .
