Richard M. "Rich" Kenah (born August 4, 1970 in Montclair ) is a former American middle-distance runner who primarily appeared in the 800-meter run .

He completed his most successful season in 1997. In March he won the bronze medal in the 800 m at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Paris . With a time of 1: 46.16 min, he set a personal best in the hall. In the race, the winner Wilson Kipketer achieved an indoor world record (1: 42.67 min) and the second-placed Moroccan Mahjoub Haida a national record (1: 45.76 min).

In August of the same year, Kenah also won the bronze medal at the World Athletics Championships in Athens . In a personal best of 1: 44.35 min he only had to admit defeat to Wilson Kipketer and Norberto Téllez . Just five days later, Kenah achieved his career best in the 800-meter run in Zurich with 1: 43.38 min. At the end of the season, he finished fourth at the IAAF Grand Prix Final in Fukuoka in September .

After missing the following season due to injury, Kenah could not build on his earlier results later. At the 1999 World Athletics Championships in Seville he reached the semi-finals, at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney he failed in the preliminary round. In 2000, however, he still achieved a respectable success. Together with Joey Woody , Karl Paranya and David Krummenacker , he set an indoor world record with a time of 7: 13.94 minutes in the rarely run 4 x 800 meter relay .

Rich Kenah is 1.86 m tall and had a competition weight of 72 kg.
