Arthémon Hatungimana (born January 21, 1974 in Muhweza , Karuzi Province ) is a former Burundian middle-distance runner , whose special route was the 800-meter run .

He celebrated the most important success of his career at the World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 1995 . In a time of 1: 45.64 minutes he won the silver medal behind Wilson Kipketer , who started for Denmark . At the Pan-African Games in Harare in 1995, he won in 1: 47.42 minutes.

After that, he could no longer build on these achievements at major international events. At the World Athletics Championships in Athens in 1997 , he was eliminated in the quarter-finals, in 1999 in Seville and in 2003 in Paris / Saint-Denis , he failed in the first round. At the 2001 World Athletics Championships in Edmonton, he was at least able to reach the semi-finals. In the same year he won the French open championships over 800 m for the third time after 1994 and 1995.

Hartungimana took part in the 800-meter run three times in the Olympic Games. In 1996 in Atlanta he reached the semi-finals, in 2000 in Sydney and 2004 in Athens he was eliminated in the preliminary round.

Arthémon Hatungimana is 1.80 m tall and weighed 65 kg at competition times.
